By R. Mitchell

Kris Kobach confirmed Tuesday he has been communicating with the White House about becoming the Secretary of Homeland Security and said that he is eager to do so.

“He’s got an important decision to make,” Kobach said of Trump, in an interview with the Washington Examiner. “If he wants to have me serve in this capacity, and thinks it would be the best thing for the country, I would certainly do so.”

Immigration hawks favor Kobach’s tough stance on border protection, but establishment Republicans warn that his Senate confirmation could be difficult.

Kobach laid out his ideas to end the invasion of illegal immgrants into the country during an interview with Fox Business News’ Lou Dobbs.

“We need these 3 steps now. #1: Publish Flores settlement regulations. #2: Deploy immigration judges & thousands of gov’t mobile home trailers to the border. #3: Propose regulations that won’t allow illegal immigrants to wire money home.
